Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Takshiva ("we", "us"), operated by [Company Legal Name], provides a school-management platform to educational institutions ("Schools"). This policy explains how we handle personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. Who controls the data

The School is the Data Fiduciary for its students', parents', and staff's personal data. Takshiva acts as a Data Processor, processing data only on the School's instructions to provide the service. We do not sell personal data, ever.

2. What we collect

  • School & account data — school details, admin/staff names, emails, phone numbers.
  • Student & parent data — entered by the School: name, class, attendance, marks, fees, contact details, and documents the School uploads.
  • Usage & technical data — log-in times, device/browser, IP, for security and support.
  • Website analytics — the public website uses Google Analytics cookies to measure visits. The signed-in school app is not tracked.

3. How we use it

Solely to operate the platform for the School — dashboards, attendance, fees, exams, communication, and the parent/teacher/student apps. We do not use student data for advertising or model training.

4. Payments

Online fee payments are processed by our payment-gateway partner (e.g. Razorpay). Card/UPI credentials are handled by the gateway under PCI-DSS; Takshiva never stores card numbers or full payment credentials.

5. Data storage & sharing

Data is stored on secured servers in India. We share data only with sub-processors needed to run the service (hosting, payment gateway, SMS/WhatsApp providers), each bound to confidentiality. We may disclose data if required by law.

6. Your rights

Data principals (parents/students/staff) may request access, correction, or erasure by contacting their School (the Data Fiduciary), or us at hello@takshiva.com. On a School ending its subscription, we provide a full data export and delete data per our retention schedule.

7. Data retention

We retain School data while the subscription is active and for up to 90 days after termination (to allow export/reactivation), after which it is deleted or anonymised, unless law requires longer.

8. Security

Per-school data isolation, role-based access, audit logs, encrypted transport (HTTPS), and regular backups. See our Security page for details.

9. Children's data

Student records are provided and controlled by the School with the necessary consent of parents/guardians as required under the DPDP Act. Takshiva processes such data only on the School's behalf.

10. Contact
